50Th Anniversary Page Three

We had most of our children and their families with us and several of our friends and everyone had a good time. I don't know who told our friends about gifts but all of them gave us some type of gift cards. We're really glad cause it would be hard to find a place for a big gift.

When we got back home we had a little clean up to do before going to bed. The daughters had somehow gotten in the motor home and had covered the bed with flower blossoms made from paper.

We decided to renew our vows so our daughter Billie arranged to have her minister present. A lot of our family were present for this important occasion. I gave Jerry a large diamond ring to show that I still loved her.

50Th Anniversary

On July 25Th, Jerry and I celebrated a big milestone in our lives, we celebrated 50 years of happy marriage. Since we were at home our daughters planned a luau for us at the home of our daughter Billie. Our daughter Karen and granddaughter Deanna made the beautiful bouquet for Jerry. They invited several of our close friends. They also arranged for us to be picked up at the RV Park in a limo and driven to Billie's home. The limo came with a bottle of sparkling wine in the cooler.

Now It's My Turn

I've been having problems with my left knee for quite a long time and Jerry said I was going to see a Doctor now. I made an appointment with Dr. Taylor, a Doctor I've know for almost thirty years.

He did some X-Rays and an MRI to see what could be done to help me. He said I needed to have it "scoped" and that he could do it on an out patient basis. I would be limited as to what I could do for a week or so but that I should be 100% better.

I had the "scope" done on Wednesday and went back to see him Thursday afternoon. He said was doing very well and he arranged to have my PT done at the motor home three times a week for two weeks. My daughter Billie drove us to the hospital and also to the Doctor office on Thursday. However due to her work schedule she was available to drive on Friday.

Jerry had a Doctor appointment on Friday and because of the medication she was on I didn't want her to drive. Oh well I'm strong and also a little dumb so I drove her to the Doctor appointment. From that time on I did all the driving and even drove back to the Doctor for my final check up. Oh well someone has to do it, I'll live.

Here We Go Again

She had another problem with her pulse rate going "sky high" and had to go to the emergency room again. This time they did all sorts of blood work and checked her heart from top to bottom trying to determine the problem.

They determined that one of the problems was that her blood was too thick and not being pumped as it should. They put her on cumin and a new medication called "beta paste".
The Doctor said that she would have to have her blood drawn and checked to see how thick or thin it was from now on.

KABOOOM

As they say, "the best laid plans of mice and men oft time go astray". We had planned to leave shortly after Christmas heading back to the Texas Hill Country for the winter.

I had to take Jerry to the emergency room due to excessive high pulse rate. It was 205 which is high enough to cause a stroke. They worked on her for several hours and finally got it back under control. She was admitted so they could run more tests and see what caused the problem.

Three days later she was discharged and the Doctor wanted her to come to his office for a tread mill test. She has to remain in the area so they can monitor her for the next few months.

It looks as though we'll be here for a long time for medical care so I don't guess there will be much need to have a post very often since nothing noteworthy will be forthcoming.

Happy Holidays

JB's Tree
We had a very good time with our family during Thanksgiving and of course we ate too much turkey and Jerry's dressing. Our daughters can't make good dressing so Jerry has to make it. She made three large pans full and when dinner was over there was not enough to bother taking any home.

We had two Christmas Trees, one with our daughters and family in Montgomery and one a little later with our daughter and family in Meridian. That really keeps Santa busy delivering presents to both homes at different times. Thank goodness he doesn't charge extra for the service.
